Key strengths highlighted:

  • The school’s ambitious and expertly designed curriculum helps pupils gain knowledge and skills well beyond national expectations. From German in Year 1 to fieldwork in geography, pupils master learning in exciting and meaningful ways.
  • Pupils, including those with SEND, achieve exceptionally well. They are resilient, motivated and take pride in their learning.
  • The school’s behaviour routines are firmly established. Pupils behave responsibly, support one another and show high levels of independence from the early years.
  • Personal development is a strength of the school. Pupils take on leadership roles, contribute to decision-making (such as the creation of school allotments) and benefit from an excellent programme of trips, clubs and enrichment.
  • Reading is taught effectively and systematically, helping pupils become fluent, confident readers. Support for pupils who need help to catch up is swift and effective.
  • Leaders and staff are committed to excellence. There is a strong culture of professional development, staff well-being is prioritised, and governance is highly effective.

The inspectors found that:

“Pupils meet and exceed the school’s high academic expectations here… They are resilient and motivated, confident to ask questions and find out new information for themselves.”

“The school has designed a very ambitious curriculum across all subjects. In many subjects, pupils acquire knowledge and skills beyond the national curriculum.”

“Pupils read books which help them practise the new letters and sounds that they have learned. Pupils listen intently to teachers during story time each day.”

“Pupils socialise very well during breaktimes, within and between year groups… In the early years, children are highly enthusiastic about their learning. They take turns and play independently.”

“The school puts in place a wide range of experiences beyond the classroom as part of the ‘new adventures await’ programme… Pupils also take part in competitive sports including swimming galas and trust-wide football competitions.”

We would like to thank our pupils, families and staff for their continued commitment and support. This outcome is a reflection of our vibrant, nurturing and ambitious school community.
